Quadruple Lovie Award Winner 2021
18 Nov 2021
The judges and the public have spoken, and Shape have won two Bronze and two People’s Lovie Awards.
On 17 November 2021 the 11th Annual Lovie Award Winners were announced, and Shape is honoured to receive two Bronze and People’s Lovie Awards. OK – Fuel, Wash & Park and TV2 Regions – The Seven Flavours of Local News both won in their respective categories: Best Use of GPS/Location Technology and News & Entertainment.
“We’re very happy and honoured that Shape once again manages to be at the top of our industry even across such different sectors as News & Entertainment and Best Use of GPS/Location Technology. We’re very proud of the products that we have created together with OK and TV2 Regions, and we continue to move forward and support the strengthening of their digital positions,” Kristian Friis, Managing Director at Shape, says.
TV2 Regions – Seven Flavours of Local News introduces seven unique apps with their own journalistic coverage, regular local news broadcasts, and local TV series, and is today the most popular source of regional content across Denmark.
“We could see from previous apps that users wanted the platform even though our product didn’t live up to the desired standard. We, therefore, launched this project with quality as the most important criteria. We quickly saw an increase in the number of users as soon as we released the apps,” Claus Ladefoged, Head of Digital Development at TV2 Regions, states.
“It was also important for us to be as strong as possible on all the channels and scenarios for usage that we offer our users, and including apps is an important part of that,” he adds.
The apps are built on a flexible, native, and modular system which makes each app feel and look uniquely made for each Region with over 1.5 million articles read every month.
“It’s a big pat on the back to win this award for both us and Shape. There are so many elements with this app that we wish to further develop, and the fact that we already won such a prestigious award as the Lovie Award is fantastic. It gives us a lot of drive for the continuous development,” Claus Ladefoged says.
OK – Fuel, Wash & Park makes the life of a car owner much easier. OK is pushing the boundaries and leading the digital transformation in the industry by engaging their customers, listening to their needs, and considering the entire mobile ecosystem.
“We’re very proud of the app that we have created together with Shape. Our ambition was to create an app, keeping in mind all the needs of the entire car owner, while keeping it simple and easy to use. The user experience is a vital component in our strategy,” Mikkel Kaczmarek, App Manager at OK, says.
With the app you can easily find the nearest OK station, and it’s even possible to filter by e.g., car wash, shop, cafeteria etc., depending on your immediate needs.
“Our philosophy is that tasks should be easy and simple. Much of our customer journey doesn’t begin at the stations, but in the app, and the GPS component is a very vital part of getting the customers to use our stations, so we’re very happy to be recognised in this category,” Mikkel Kaczmarek concludes.
Honouring the best in Europe
The Lovie awards could be described as the European Championship honouring and recognising excellence on the European Internet. The mission of The Lovie Awards is to recognise the unique and resonant nature of the European Internet community – from Europe’s top web and creative networks and content publishers to cultural and political organisations and individual creators.
Lovie Awards are given within six categories:
Apps, Mobile & Voice
Both OK and TV2 Regions won within the Apps, Mobile & Voice category.
The Lovie Awards is judged by the European members of The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS), which was founded in 1998. Furthermore, the People’s Love Award winners are selected by the voting public. This year there were nearly 55,000 votes from fans from around the world.
“We’re very pleased that our work gets recognised, not only by experts in the field, but also the users. We make digital products that support our client’s relation with their customers, so it’s a great validation to win an award like The People’s Lovie,” Kristian Friis concludes.
