The Seventh Prancer Joins the Herd
30 Nov 2021
Every year since 1995, Børsen, Denmark’s leading business publication, has elected the country’s fastest growing companies – Gazelles. For the seventh year in a row, Shape is fortunate enough receive this prestigious recognition.
“We’re of course very proud to be one of the few and receive our seventh Gazelle in a row. It’s a testament to how we as a team continue to develop our clients’ businesses and our own,” Kristian Friis, Managing Director at Shape, states.
Not just anyone can become a Gazelle
A Gazelle shows the way forward in the Danish business community, and getting the title is an achievement that requires something out of the ordinary.
The criteria to become a Gazelle company are ambitious and clear – you must have been in business for four years, and you must show financial growth by doubling the revenue every fourth year while also showing profit each year.
Last year, 1885 Danish companies managed to achieve these standards, and because criteria are so hard to achieve, the Gazelles reflect the Danish economy. If the economy goes up, so does the number of Gazelles and vice versa.
How did we get there?
Some of the big questions that Børsen asks themselves each year is, how do you create growth? And how do you continue to grow?
“We believe that there’s a continued marketplace for finding the essence of great digital craftsmanship – focusing less on the buzzwords, but on delivering premium digital products on the consumers preferred platform – the mobile. Shape’s motto is ‘Do Right’ and comes from a sentence being written on all our early days material ‘Integrity is doing the right thing even when nobody is looking’. That’s a saying we’ll continue to live by, as we continue to transform businesses into becoming the mobile leaders of their industry,” Kristian Friis says.
Less than 0,2 % of all Danish companies have ever received a seventh consecutive Børsen Gazelle, and it’s thanks to our teams, clients, and partners that Shape has become one of those this year.
“This seventh Gazelle price will properly also be our last, as we’ve decided over the last year to regroup our company structure to secure that we can maintain a specialised focus within our different departments – ranging from consulting, our SaaS offerings, and our venture department,” Kristian Friis concludes.
